Yesterday was the Full moon day of the first lunar month, which is significant as one of the holy day as Buddha defeated the heretics in miraculous contest at Sravasti. We at Pema Tsal had some programs. At 5:30, we have our routine morning prayer followed by reading of the Astasrahasika sutra and observance of Sojong for the day. Then my assistant took all the students to the monasteries as custom to receive blessings and circumambulate the monasteries. In the evening, they again went to the 3km long monasteries by walking to see the famous Gelugpa Monlam Chonga Chodpa. In the evening, all the students does 108 long prostrations on the terrace. This year again, I am organizing Pilgrimage cum Educational Tour of 10 students of grade 11 to the four Holy places of the Buddha and also to Pema Tsal Pokhara and Kathmandu. The grade 11 students finish their exam 15 days earlier and we have time for the tour. We went last year and it was really very positive and enhanced the insight of the students to great extend. The student contribute a part of the expenses to ease the expenses.
